We need to go public with the solar installation process. This apparent inability to get things done in an efficient manner is yet another example of how dysfunctional the US government has become. Why does it take so long to procure and install a solar system on the roof of the White House? This is a good opportunity to look at the entire process that the Administration goes through to complete a task. What are the standards for deciding who is invited to participate in the design, production and installation bids? Let us see the design details. Is it thermal or PV? Is a permit required and if so, how long does it take to get one? What are the options and how are the decisions made? Who makes the decisions? Doing some public analysis of this process will help us better understand where the inefficiencies in the system lie.
