Food Stamp Cuts Would Deny Benefits To At Least 4 Million: CBPP

Congress could cut an estimated $13.7 billion in spending by abandoning the marijuana wars and releasing prisoners. Most people feel we could add billions of dollars to the economy by legalizing and taxing marijuana.

Legalizing pot is a healthier way to balance the budget than cutting food stamps and forcing millions of people to go hungry. Cutting off the food supply will surely add to the health care bill, and possibly offset any savings in food stamps.

Republicans would have the added joy of working on a bi-partisan solution that the administration does not support.
